China Is Ready for Partnerships—And We’re Here for It

by | Sep 5, 2025 | Chief Of Chaos, Adventures in Growth, Affiliate Management, Partnerships

I just wrapped an inspiring week in Shanghai for the impact.com iPX China Partnerships Experience, and the energy is real. Massive thank-you to our incredible hosts Jennifer Z. (JZ), John Huang, Beth (Bourgeois) Schmitt, Xixi Ling, and the entire Impact China team for the hospitality and momentum you’re building.

At the opening keynote, JZ challenged the room to move from “Made in China” to “Created in China.” That shift isn’t just manufacturing—it’s brand identity, global vision, and trusted relationships. And in affiliate + performance marketing, that means partnerships built on people as much as platforms.

Thesis: China is bursting with innovation. The next phase of growth will come from trustauthentic relationships, and global communities, not just more ad spend.

Why now (and why partnerships)?

  • China’s partnership moment: iPX returned to Shanghai this year, underscoring how fast the partnership economy is scaling in-market. Impact’s presence and investment in China continue to expand, giving brands proven infrastructure and local expertise to go global. impact.com+2impact.com+2impact.com.cn
  • East↔West opportunity: Chinese brands want the U.S. and other Western markets; U.S. brands want to learn China’s community-driven, creator-led playbook. Partnerships are the lowest-risk, highest-learning path to do both, fast.

What we’re building with partners (two clear tracks)

1) China ➜ U.S. (for Chinese/Greater China brands)

  • Partner discovery & vetting: affiliates, content publishers, creators, communities.
  • Localized offers & pages: U.S. pricing, compliance notes, shipping/returns, payments.
  • Tracking & data: clean UTM/PII practices, partner contracts, fraud controls.
  • Enablement: playbooks, briefs, creative kits, and monthly optimization sprints.

2) U.S. ➜ China (for U.S. brands)

  • Market readiness: ICP/brand positioning, translation/local nuance, category fit.
  • Partner mix: KOL/KOC, content & coupon ecosystems, community commerce.
  • Compliance & ops: cross-border storefronts, payments, and service SLAs.
  • Learning loop: pilot, measure, expand; keep CAC/ROAS discipline from day one.

Our approach: People first, platform-powered

For 26+ years in affiliate and performance, we’ve believed: partnerships are relationships before they’re dashboards. Here’s how Chief of Chaos executes:

  1. Trust & access: we start with warm intros and co-marketing so partners feel seen.
  2. Simple economics: partner-friendly tiers, clear attribution, prompt payouts.
  3. Creative velocity: templates for briefs, carousels, short video, and landing pages so partners ship every week.
  4. Instrumentation: clean tracking, source of truth reporting, and lift studies, not just last-click.
  5. Enablement at scale: quarterly playbooks, webinars, and office hours to keep programs improving.

Thank you, Impact China

From the iPX stage to the hallway conversations, Impact is helping Chinese brands expand internationally, especially into the U.S. with real commitment and footprint on the ground. We’re excited to build the bridge with you
